At Secon Constructions, we pride ourselves on creating homes that beautifully merge heritage charm with modern sophistication. Our Cheltenham project is a shining example of this philosophy. This award-winning renovation and extension turned a dilapidated Federation farmhouse into a spectacular family home.

Our client sought a transformation that balanced the home’s historical character with contemporary design elements. Working closely with the renowned architect and interior design team Page Stewart, we achieved a seamless integration of old and new. The front façade, with its striking street appeal, was revitalised with new timber weatherboards, while the rear extension features a harmonious blend of Weathertex cladding and recycled brick. A distinctive curved feature chimney adds a touch of elegance to the property’s side.

Inside, the home welcomes you with the warmth of American Oak timber floorboards, transitioning to soft, off-white concrete floors in the living area that add extra comfort with hydronic heating. The heart of this home is the kitchen, boasting a breathtaking four-metre island bench crafted from Italian Travertine natural stone, with curved edges emphasising its organic nature.

Natural light floods the living areas through floor-to-ceiling windows and a generous skylight. A cosy fireplace, high-quality finishes, and the use of natural stone in the bathroom and powder room add to the home’s luxurious feel.

Outside, the tranquil pool area is fringed with cobblestones by Alto Landscaping and provides a perfect space for entertaining. Period-era features have been lovingly restored, with original fireplaces transformed into statement shelving and vibrant stained-glass windows brought back to life.
